Downey took Pepper right in, but Scarlett saw Pepper as a threat, so \u2026we attempted a slow introduction, following advice online (some of which was half-wrong, the rest mostly if not all wrong). Scarlett&#8217;s aggression was devastating to us\u2026We nearly returned her to the shelter. After months of failure, we decided to enlist help and I[found] one of \u2018America&#8217;s 10 Best Pet Behaviorists\u2019 right here in the Valley &#8211; Jane Ehrlich!! When Jane called us back, I actually said &#8220;Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you&#8217;re my only hope!&#8221; <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em>As it says on her website, &#8216;(Jane&#8217;s) lifelong commitment to improving the lives of cats and their humans makes Jane one of the most experienced experts in the profession.&#8217;<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><em><strong>She was SIMPLY THE BEST!<\/strong> She visited our home 2 or 3 times, and put up with a dozen phone calls and emails following up with her. Although it&#8217;s taken time, we are happy to report that Scarlett&#8217;s aggression has been reduced by about 98 percent and Pepper has become much more comfortable around the house, roaming as she pleases, even when we leave the house\u2026 They DO frequently touch noses, co-exist in the same close quarters, enjoy treats, praise and playing together &#8212; without any issues whatsoever.
